The Dog and Its Reflection

They lose what they have, those who try to steal.
kamooks swim kopa chok pi iaka lolo itluil.
A dog was swimming in the water and it was carrying meat.
iaka nanich iaka siahus kopa chok
he saw his face in the water
pi iaka tomtom hloima kamuks mitlait wiht iaka lolo mit.
and he thought that another dog was there who was also carrying meat.
iaka tiki kapshwala. ukuk iaka iktas tomtom mamuk tsipi iaka.
He wanted to steal it. That greedy heart of his made him go astray.
iaka lost ukuk makmak iaka lolo
He lost that food which he was carrying
pi ilo iaka tlap ikta iaka tiki kapshwala.
and he didn’t get what he wanted to steal.
