The Proud Frog
pus klahawiam man tiki mamuk kakwa rich man, iaka chako lost.
when a poor man wants to act like a rich man, he becomes lost.
frog iaka nanich musmus kopa ilihi
A frog saw a bull in a field
pi iaka makmak ukuk musmus.
and was jealous of that bull.
iaka iskom win pi mamuk aias iaka itluil.
He took in breath and enlarged his body.
iawa iaka ask iaka tanas pus ilip aias iaka kopa ukuk musmus.
Then he asked his children if he was bigger than the bull.
klaska wawa “ilo.” pi wiht skukum iaka iskom win
They said no. And again he breathed in powerfully
pi ask iaka tanas klaksta ilip aias.
and asked his children who is bigger.
klaska wawa “musmus.”
They said “the bull.”
kopa ukuk iaka chako saliks pi drit aias skukum
He became angry because of this and then most powerfully
iaka iskom win pi aiak iaka chako pu.
he took in breath and suddenly he exploded.
